A tyre for every road condition

Radial tyre

The most common type of tyre with right angle parallel tread pattern. Radials deliver longer tread life, better steering control and lower rolling resistance.

Directional tyre

Some high performance tyres have directional tread and these tyres are designed to rotate in one direction only to provide handling and performance benefits. These must be fitted with the tread facing in the proper direction. When swapping a directional tyre from one side of the car to the other, the tyre must be removed from the rim and turned to face the correct direction. Have a TyreLAND expert do this for you.

All-weather tyre

A general all-purpose tyre for 'typical' New Zealand weather conditions all year round.

Summer tyre

A 'smoother' tyre with less tread and made of a harder compound to deliver extra performance and economy on typically dry roads, e.g. Marlborough, Canterbury and Central Otago. Switch with all-weather or winter tyres when the weather conditions change.

Winter tyre

A softer tyre with deeper and more tread to optimise control in snow and ice conditions. Not recommended for summer driving. Switch with all-weather or summer tyres when the weather conditions change.
