Background

Nankang Rubber Tire Corporation was established in 1940 on the East Asian island of Taiwan (then known as Formosa). It was founded on the strong Japanese manufacturing technology developed in Taiwan since Japan colonised the island in 1895. The company's growth accelerated with the establishment of the Hsinfung Plant in 1973.

In 2003, Nankang made its first foray into mainland China, with production commencing at the ZhangJiaGang Plant in Jiangsu province.
