Company Profile
In 1997 five independent operators based
in Alexandra, Oamaru, Timaru, Invercargill and Dunedin decided to join
forces as the TyreLAND group of companies.
Since then five other branches have opened in Blenheim, Christchurch (2), Wanaka and Cromwell.
They sought to retain their independence
but at the same time draw on a pool of expertise to provide better quality
tyre products and services throughout the South Island. They saw their market advantage as:
being able to offer a South Island-wide service
more uniform charges between stores
full backup from any branch no matter where
customers are
competitive prices (bulk buying of products
with cost savings passed on to customers)
They also developed their own TyreLAND
double-warranty, combining what they saw as all of the best features of
competitors' warrantees, with the advantage that the services are available
at any TyreLAND shop, no matter which
branch the customer bought a tyre at.
The company's freephone O800-4-TREAD,
(0800-4-87323 ) number automatically switches through to the nearest
TyreLAND shop to where a call is being
made from.
