APPLICATION AND SELECTION GUIDE

TYRE SELECTION*

There are two primary considerations for selecting the optimum Michelin Earthmover Radial Tyre, and they are:

  • Surface Conditions:
Determine the type of surface that the machine is most often going to encounter, e.g. mud or earthworks, which require high levels of traction, -or hard rock which will require high levels of protection and cut resistance. The tyre pattern chart following shows increasing levels of traction as you progress up the chart, and increasing levels of reinforcement and protection as you progress from left to right.
  • Service Conditions:
Distances travelled, speeds encountered, numbers of cycles and loads imposed are also critical factors influencing tyre selection. Consult Tyreland for assistance as required.
  • * INFLATION PRESURES
Michelin Earthmover Radials are commonly required to be operated at lower inflation pressures than an equivalent size bias-ply tyre. Optimum levels of traction, abrasion resistance, ride comfort and tyre life are achieved by maintaining the correct tyre inflation pressure. Consult Tyreland for specific individual recommendations.
